Balloon Advent Calendar

I know, she's balloontastic. This advent calendar was really simple to put together. Inside each balloon is a rolled up note containing an activity for the day, such as 'Play like a child' or 'Fly a kite'. For our activities we try to think of things that are filled with joy, simple pleasures, thankfulness & generosity. It does my heart the world of good. Along with this we read the advent story & passages that reflect our desire to be joyful, thankful & generous. 

Another idea would be an advent treasure hunt, with a clue in the balloon. Such as 'look in the bathroom'. The only catch is you'd need to remember to hide the gift each day & keep a list of the clues.

Now onto the how to:

Ingredients:
24 mini balloons
Gold sharpie
Paper
Pencil
Scissors
Sting
Dowel pole
Crepe
Honeycomb balls or other decorations.
Ribbon

Method:
Write out 24 notes, roll them, secure with tape and push into balloon.
Blow up your balloons (I always use a balloon pump)
Tie on a length of ribbon to each end of the pole.
Secure inflated balloons to pole using varying lengths of string. I left a little extra string to tie on a crepe bow.
Once all of your balloons are tied on, start adding other embellishments such as ribbon, honeycomb balls, mirror balls, feathers.
Hang your calendar in place & then use the sharpie to number each balloon. We chose to randomly number the balloons, un-ordered. We recommend that the confetti filled balloons are labelled with a lower number as over time they fog up.
