15 fun things to do with your favourite people this Valentine’s Day

Whether you are hanging out with friends and family or enjoying some well earned me time, celebrate Valentine's Day your own way.

We have come up with a fun list of things to do to turn this traditional "only-for-the-loved-up" day to celebrating love in every way!

Food is where the heart is

"There is no sincerer love than the love of food." - George Bernard Shaw

Spread the joy of food with these fun food themed gatherings.

  • Cookie or cupcake decorating: Bake (or buy…no judgement here!) a batch of cupcakes or cookies and set up a decoration station with different coloured icing, fun sprinkles and toppers (if making cupcakes) then let everyone get their decorating on.

  • Pizza making: Turn your kitchen into your very own pizza shop! Set up a toppings bar with yummy fresh ingredients and fun extras like pesto and flavoured oils. Heart-shaped or round, everyone will enjoy eating their creations.

  • Pasta making: Get a bit messy and have a laugh while making delicious and fresh pasta. Make a simple sauce (don’t forget the cheese!) and enjoy! A fun way to spend time with your favourite people.

  • Wine tasting: Set up a wine tasting station with a selection wines. Pair them with yummy foods such as cheese, fruit or chocolate. You could even create little score cards for people to rate each wine and food pairing then discuss them together.

Made with love

"Art and love are the same thing: It's the process of seeing yourself in things that are not you" - Chuck Klosterman

Get crafty with your girl-gang on Valentine's Day.

  • Scrapbooking: Collect photos and mementos from your friendship and create a scrapbook together. Provide crafty bits and pieces such as washi tape, pressed flowers, pretty papers and stickers and celebrate your friendship.

  • Vision boards: Gather up old magazines (op shops are great for these), scissors, glue and poster board and bring your goals and dreams to life!

  • Paint and sip: Have a theme, set up a still life or let guests do their own thing. Provide canvasses, paints, brushes and a bottle or two of wine and let the creativity flow.

  • Decorate bags: Host a tote bag decorating session with loved ones using fabric paint, iron-on transfers or tie-dye techniques to create one of a kind creations.

  • Make your own flower bouquets: Bring out the inner florist in your guests with this blooming fun activity! Set up a mini flower bar with fresh flowers and have guests create their own bouquets.

Play it to me baby!
